Ning Communities I've been using the Ning Social Media Platform for a few months now, and think its probably the best and potentially most significant social media tool available, of all the one's I've seen.  Of course experience is the best teacher, so if you know of others that you wish to recommend to this social media platform blog, please let me know.

With Ning, you can actually start your own online community and grow it organically with very little effort.  If you choose the paid option, you can even control the ad space, which isn't really that obtrusive anyway.  There is a limit of 10 online communities that you can have in one account, but that should be plenty for any business.  I am interested in anybody's experience with KickApps.com if you wish to contribute to this social media platform blog, by clicking on contributor of course, below this post.
